US Passport or US Passport Card
Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card
On the 1st of May 2017, USCIS started to issue new, redesigned cards on which the signature of the individual concerned is no longer displayed. However, it is possible that some cards issued after the above date might still display the previous format. Both the previous and new versions of these cards (also known as Green Cards) will remain valid until the expiration date shown - there's no need to worry if your card format appears to be outdated as the only significant element is the expiration date.
Form I-766, Employment Authorization Document Card
Much like with the Perminent Resident Card, the current version was released by USCIS on the 1st of May 2017, however, some cards may still display the previous format. The deciding factor as to the validity of this form of ID will be the expiration date shown on the card and not the card format.
Foreign passport with Form I-94 or Form I-94A with Arrival-Departure Record
If you choose to present this form of ID, it must be accompanied by a Form I-94/94A Arrival-Departure Record in the same name as the passport. Due to the fact that US Customs and Border Protection no longer automatically provides travellers with a paper copy of Form I-94, you can obtain this yourself by heading over to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website. Alternatively, during the inspection process, you may request a paper Form I-94.
Passport from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) or the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) with Form I-94 or Form I-94A
If you choose to present this form of ID, you must also provide Form I-94 or Form I-94A demonstrating nonimmigrant admission under the Compact of Free Association Between the U.S. and the FSM or RMI.
Foreign passport containing a Form I-551 stamp or Form I-551 printed notation
If you choose to present this form of ID, the Passport has to contain either a temporary Form I-551 stamp or temporary Form I-551 printed notation on a machine-readable immigrant visa (MRIV). Due to the temporary nature of both the stamp and the printed notation, it is possible that this document will be subject to re-verification in the future.
